I had the very fortunate experience of not only reading this book, but having the author Norman attend our men’s group each week to help us delve even deeper into the life of Joseph. Each chapter Norman explained his thoughts and insights that provided us a truly remarkable understanding of how it must have been to be a father to the Son of God! I enjoyed the simplicity of his writing that made it easier to comprehend the content compared to other books I have read. I look forward with great anticipation for your next book Norman! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This is a MUST READ! I was really moved by this very unique account of such a special relationship between father and son. Norm writes in such a brilliant way, you really do not want to stop reading. That last chapter was breathtaking in so many ways! I purchased 8 copies to give family and friends who are raising children themselves for Father’s Day gifts. This story was a gift in so many ways to all of mankind, past – present – future!

Caretaker of a King is an excellent Christian story written about Joseph father of Jesus that Norm Coggin writes. It does a great job of painting a picture that many of us can relate to as fathers, mothers, grandparents, children, and neighbors trying to connect with our God and each other. It made for a perfect book study for my Church Men’s Small Group that brought about very easy and life-appropriate discussion that all could take something away valuable from each morning after our meetings.

The author’s dedication to remaining faithful to the Gospel came through in this story which follows an imagined life of Joseph. The author took care to avoid contradicting anything in the Scriptures, and clearly researched lesser-known details surrounding biblical characters. But scriptural soundness ends up being somewhat beside the point. The book is a series of warmly written portraits of life’s relationships and lessons. Great read!

We read “Caretaker of a King” as part of our weekly Men’s Group at church, and it provided some excellent conversation points. I most enjoyed the book’s first-person type perspective of Joseph’s (and Jesus’s) life that I’d never experienced before!
